Tennis Classic Winners Announced

Winners of the eleventh annual University Healthcare Foundation Tennis Classic, which raised $12,200 to purchase a cardiac monitor for the new NICU at Berkeley Medical Center, were recently announced.

The champions were Nathan Jones in the men’s division and Lauren Epperly in the women’s.  Finishing second were Al Depapaz in the men’s division and Tracy Housden in the women’s division.  Lewis Charette had the most aces.  Forty players participated in the tournament, which was held on September 13 at St. James School.

The University Healthcare Foundation sponsors this annual fall fund raising event along with a group of local physicians and community leaders who serve on the organizing committee.

Since the tournament was established in 2004, over $133,000 has been raised to fund patient care equipment at Berkeley Medical Center as well as the hospital’s community service projects.

The University Healthcare Tennis Classic is held annually, the second Saturday in September.  For more information, call the Foundation office at 304.264.1223.
