WVU Tech is excited to announce the return of the University’s STEM Summer Academy for Girls, July 24-29, 2016.

This weeklong, on-campus experience is designed to connect high school girls to students, faculty and professionals working in STEM fields to promote STEM awareness and career exploration.

Now in its second year, the Academy will bring more than 30 girls to campus to conduct experiments, participate in dynamic presentations, discover new STEM fields and meet with female professionals who are working in these important industries.

Academy students will enjoy a day trip to Charleston and work in teams on presentations detailing what they have learned throughout the week. They will also participate in the popular shoe design contest, where students use engineering principles to design, build and test functional shoes using only cardstock, glue and tape.

The Academy is made possible by generous support from Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia. Find out more at wvutech.edu/girlsinstem.
