Real. Mountain Memories

When West Virginia Executive set out to create a one-of-a-kind map that would draw millennials to the Mountain State, we turned to those who love Wild, Wonderful West Virginia the most: the locals. Working with West Virginia Division of Tourism and Generation West Virginia, we collected input from folks across the state who were excited to share their favorite things to see and do in the Mountain State. The overwhelming response is proof that West Virginia is a wonderful place to visit—and an even better place to live!

In putting this map together, we highlighted the nine West Virginia counties for which we received the most recommendations: Fayette, Greenbrier, Jefferson, Kanawha, Monongalia, Pocahontas, Randolph, Summers and Tucker. Each map identifies the location of the local convention and visitors bureau and visitor center and gives a description of the can’t-miss restaurants, shops, activities and scenic areas in each county. Locals also weighed in on some with their own tips for getting the most out of a visit to these unique spots.

With this 2016 map, exploring some of the best places and activities West Virginia has to offer can’t get any easier. So get out and explore and create your own Real. Mountain Memories.

    • Hi, Lynn.

We created maps for the nine counties for which we received the most recommendations: Fayette, Greenbrier, Jefferson, Kanawha, Monongalia, Pocahontas, Randolph, Summers and Tucker. While we didn’t do all 55 counties, we hope you’ll be able to use this guide for exploring these areas of West Virginia.
