Looking for something to do with your friends or group? There’s a new business in town that can provide that for you. It’s called My Kitchen. Chef Christopher Hall comes to us from Washington DC area where he taught cooking. He has built a licensed commercial kitchen as an addition to his brand new home on Grafton Road. My Kitchen is designed for hands on cooking classes or Chef demonstrations. “Chef Hall” has equipped his kitchen with small appliances that are used at home as well as some commercial equipment to accommodate as many as 10 students at a time. His philosophy on teaching cooking goes like this “you can watch a guy play the violin all day long but until you get that instrument in your hand you will never learn”. His classes are designed to work together in teams of 2 or 3 and crank out several recipes per session. Chef Hall demonstrates, instructs, and then supervises students work so that they can take their skills home with them. Everyone eats what is cooked. Typically as a team finishes a recipe it is put out for everyone to try. When you leave one of his classes, he says, you had a great time, learned something and are usually stuffed.
The goal of My Kitchen is to offer an environment that will help people get away from fast and unhealthy processed foods that today’s lifestyle has drawn us into. “We are losing the art of cooking because of convenience and time restraints” Chef Hall says.
“We need to get back to basics and understand fundamentals of home cooking”. Americans are spending Billions of dollars on diets by getting frozen and processed “diet “ dinners and lite products. All these things can be prepared quickly and easily with a little practice and just a few techniques. Go learn how to organize your menu and cook delicious meals at half the cost.
If you lack confidence in your kitchen because no one ever showed you the fundamentals of simple sauces or soups Chef hall can help. Get started feeding your family good home cooked comfort foods that are so much better than quick or box food.
Every “single” person needs to know at least one good meal to make for that special someone you need to impress. Come learn a few and in just one class you will be cranking out dishes like Chicken Marsala and desserts like Tiramisu. Give Chef Chris a call and lets talk about it.
Want to start eating healthier meals without paying for an expensive program or diet, this is the place to start doing it. Chef hall has helped hundreds of people eat smarter or adapt a special diet due to changing medical conditions. Special diets can be frustrating unless you have some kitchen skills to give you the ability to make those changes you need to. Stop shopping at local restaurants that offer you healthy alternatives that you can make yourself.
Chef Hall offers regularly scheduled classes on his web-site mykitchenwv.com and is also available for private lessons. He hopes, also, that local Chefs will use his facility for demonstrations that their customers would attend. So often Chefs would love to do this but have nowhere to do it. My Kitchen can accommodate up to 25 spectators for demonstrations and seminars.
Why not give him a call today and discuss what he can do for you and your family.
