Mountaineer World to “Kick Off” Holiday Shopping

Bridgeport, WV - Mountaineer World, the area’s newest West Virginia University mountaineer merchandise retailer, is gearing up for the holiday shopping season with a Grand Opening scheduled for Friday, November 27.

The 3,800 square foot store carries a huge selection of licensed Mountaineer merchandise including apparel, gifts, home décor items, tailgate supplies, glassware, jewelry, pet supplies, seasonal accessories and novelties for the office and automobile. Their clothing line features brands like Columbia and Russell in styles for adults, children and infants.

Kick-off for the Grand Opening celebration begins at 7 am with a day-long line-up of giveaways, discounted merchandise and prize drawings for shoppers. Guests will receive a complimentary WVU souvenir cup, while supplies last. The store will be open until 9 p.m.

Since opening its doors in September, Mountaineer World has been jammed with WVU fans especially those stopping to shop before and after home football games. Owner Joe Pinti is preparing for a large crowd at the Grand Opening because November 27th is also “Black Friday”, one of the busiest retail shopping days of the year.

“We are really excited to introduce Mountaineer World to the many shoppers who will be out that day. With hundreds of different items in the store we offer the area’s best variety of WVU merchandise,” Pinti said. “You can find something here for any fan on your gift list.”

The store features a diverse line of apparel including jerseys, t-shirts, fleece jackets and vests, polos, turtlenecks, and medical “scrubs”. Unique, high quality gift items like clocks, picture frames, steins, watches, leather wallets and attaché cases, pottery, and a variety of glassware are also available. All merchandise is licensed by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC).

Soon Mountaineer World will launch its website www.mountaineerworld.com which will offer on-line shopping for many of the items sold in the store.

Bridgeport businessman Joe Pinti is no stranger to operating a successful retail business. Joe and his wife Pam also own and operate Benny’s Boot Hill, the Copper Roof Outlet and the new Mountaineer Grille Restaurant. All four businesses are located behind Benny’s Boot Hill under the “big copper roof” building on Barnett Run Road in Bridgeport, Exit 121 off of I-79 beside Super 8.
