Main Street Bank, headquartered in Wheeling, WV, was named as the West Virginia Community Bank of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) West Virginia Director Judy McCauley.

The lending institution provided funding for nine West Virginia small businesses in fiscal year 2011 totaling just over $1.2 million through SBA’s guaranteed loan program.

“I am proud to recognize Main Street Bank for their outstanding accomplishments and commitment to provide important capital to West Virginia’s small business community,” says McCauley. “Since being established in 2001, Main Street Bank has been an ardent supporter of SBA loan programs and continues to be among the top West Virginia community banks year in and year out.”

Main Street Bank has provided funding through the SBA guaranteed loan program to 84 West Virginia small businesses totaling just over $6 million over the past four years.

“Main Street Bank is proud to receive, for the third year in a row, an award recognizing us as Bank of the Year,” says Rich Lucas, Main Street Bank president. “These recognitions demonstrate our continued dedication and commitment to helping small businesses. Being consistently recognized is an honor and our local businesses should end up the winners.”

Main Street Bank will be recognized at the 2012 West Virginia Small Business Week awards luncheon on Wednesday, May 30, held in conjunction with the 2012 Teaming To Win Conference.
