An incoming millennial workforce and technological advancements means business and employment are undergoing a rapid evolution, and Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) is leading the way. The CPA firm recently opened a new office space in downtown Charleston that was designed with their investment in the future in mind. DHG started the new year in the office, located in the United Center.

“We are reaffirming our commitment to Charleston and the business community with this new space and the innovation that it promotes. This space symbolizes a fresh and forward-thinking way of doing business,” says Rick Slater, managing partner. “Our mission is to build valuable careers for our people and help our clients achieve their goals. At DHG, we understand that having happy, content people in the workplace translates into good business and strong relationships with our clients. We look forward to sharing our new brand and our new space with the Charleston business community.”

The office is an innovative and modern space that boasts a collaboration area, coffee bar and blue sky room equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The layout fosters and promotes flexibility, transparency and teamwork for its employees.

A focal point of the design is a large, open collaboration space that offers comfortable seating and high-top tables and comes equipped with iPads and a coffee bar. The area is a haven for employees to find a change of scenery during the work day; they can also meet with their teams or just enjoy a cup of coffee.

One of the most intriguing features of the space is the “blue sky” room, which was designed to be an area for open-minded, sky-is-the-limit thinking and thriving brainstorming sessions. There are no traditional conference tables in this room; instead, it’s furnished with plush leather chairs, and the wall features a SMART board. The SMART white board uses interactive software to allow printing and digitizing of information that is drawn onto it, making the space a dream for translating creative thinking into action.

The firm and brand have traveled a great distance in a handful of short and rewarding years. Along the way, deep client focus and relationships have been and always will be DHG’s touchstone. To mark their growth and rise to new challenges, they are proud to introduce the next generation of the DHG brand and office space.

“At DHG, resourceful thinking is at the heart of what we do and is central to the evolution of our brand promise. For us, this means an agile approach from professionals who think innovatively about how to solve problems and overcome challenges,” says Slater.

With this new office, DHG hopes to demonstrate their forward-thinking to the next generation of the workforce. The company’s outlook includes recruiting the best new minds on the market, and with a space that has the capacity for innovation, DHG has shown that they are committed to staying ahead in every aspect of business.

“As the Partner-in-Charge of Recruiting for our firm, I have the privilege and opportunity to meet with millennials across the country and gain an understanding of what kind of environment they are looking for when choosing an employer,” says Slater. “We definitely want this new space to meet the needs of the millennial generation while also providing all of our partners and employees the tools they need for continued success.”

Regardless of what the firm accomplished in the past, there is no doubt that DHG holds a strong belief that the future is now. They invite guests to stop by anytime to visit this inventive office space that’s unlike anything else in Charleston.
